THE MIND.
Towards the end of the nineteenth century, an avenue lined with persimmons and vines led to an enchanted place from which it was possible to stand and watch the river flowing by, to appreciate the passage of life. Today, that place is the home of our Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc vines. When the Chardonnay reaches its technological maturity, the sweetness and structure are united with the Sauvignon Blanc, with its highly sought after aromatic qualities and notable acidity. They combine to allow Sghiras to express the structure of a high class enduring white wine. The fermentation on the lees gives it a structure which is worthy of a red wine; its particular alcoholic strength demands lengthy aging. The use of barriques and tonneaux enhances the blending of the two grapes, maximising the various characteristics of these varieties.
THE BODY.
Deep straw yellow with brilliant gold reflections, Sghiras abandons itself to the glass, fluid and crystalline. On the nose, it presents marked traces of pineapple and pink grapefruit in a unique composition of grassy and aromatic notes. It is possible to recognise sweet hints of honey, butter and hazelnuts, blended with pungent mineral undertones.
The generous complexity and silkiness of the taste is a winning characteristic. The features, tending towards mineral and fruity, are open to the freshness and captivating tones of apple and juniper, offering a prolonged aftertaste of citrus fruits and Mediterranean herbs.
THE SOUL.
Ambitous and elegant. Sghiras is the pure soul that embodies a territory. Reluctant to capitulate, it has revealed itself over the years. Sghiras astonishes. Its energetic characteristics ensure that the first contact with this wine is never the last. Refined and distinct, it offers a glimpse of profound femininity and magnificent elegance, the perfection of a lady.
